An Invaluable
Addition to
Any School.

Bring the Honor Society of Cinematic Arts to your campus — a credential of distinction and a home in a national community of student filmmakers.

HSCA Chapters

Affiliation with HSCA brings credibility and distinction to students, schools, and their film programs.

An HSCA Chapter is an invaluable addition to any school's curriculum — a prominent, positive symbol of the quality and breadth of a school's educational program.

We are eternally grateful for the support of our Pioneer Chapters this semester.

Chapter Director Benefits

Benefits for
Educators

Chapter Directors, the educator(s) supervising their school's Chapter, gain access to the following benefits in addition to the benefits their students receive.

Benefit 01

A program to enhance your curriculum,

encouraging your students to actively participate in your school's film community, all while developing core competencies like organization, communication, leadership, and technical-filmmaking skills.

Eligibility

Is Your School Eligible?

To establish an HSCA Chapter, your school must be an in-person secondary level institution offering the equivalent of US grades 9 through 12. School districts may also qualify as a singular Chapter.

Your school will need a permanent physical address and a Chapter Director — an educator or administrator who will oversee the Chapter and serve as the primary point of contact with HSCA.

A film production program or an extracurricular organization dedicated to film production and appreciation is recommended but not required.

Chapter Responsibilities

Leading Your
Chapter.

Beyond regular meetings, a Chapter's leadership team — typically comprised of three to five Student Officers and one Chapter Director — is required to provide Members with opportunities to fulfill induction requirements by organizing activities for Members to earn points, present opportunities to screen Member-produced films, and facilitate the collaborative production of films.

Chapter leadership is also tasked with bookkeeping; each Chapter is expected to ensure the digital Member Portal is accurate and up to date.

Whether your school is in the United States or on the other side of the world, HSCA welcomes you. We currently have Chapters across four continents and seven countries — and our international community is growing every semester.

Wherever you are, our mission is the same: recognizing and supporting the next generation of filmmakers.

Annual Dues

Simple & Standardised
Annual Dues.

$150

Annual Chapter Fee

Due Oct. 15

Renewed each year to maintain active Chapter status.

$25

Per Member Fee

Due Oct. 15

Assessed per inducted Member each academic year.

$100

One-Time Startup Fee

First year only

Paid during your Chapter's first year of operation.

Unlike other honor societies that require Chapter Directors to pay multiple fees and manage their own inventory of regalia, we simplify the payment process — all educational resources, benefits, and regalia are included in these annual dues.

Should these costs be prohibitive, please refer to our Chapter Grant Initiative, where we provide waivers or reductions to schools that cannot traditionally afford our annual dues.

As a federally recognized charitable organization under IRS code 501(c)(3), all fees are allocated to the direct operation of the Society. There are currently no paid employees at HSCA; all funds are reinvested back into the organization.
